Talk about taking the plunge on her wedding day. Standing about six feet above her bridal party she did not hesitate to take the plunge backwards into their arms with her husband giving her a kiss. I had my 2nd shooter capturing the side angle for the full perspective. It made for an amazing moment they will never forget.
Lacey and David's wedding was in north county San Diego at the La Costa Resort, just a skip, hop and a jump from my home. Hiring local photographers has its advantages.
First being the experience of the overall area because sometimes the best locations are not at the venue itself but maybe a one minute drive down the road to a spectacular shot.
The knowledge of the venue itself, from the best locations, to knowing what the light is doing in these locations at different times of the day. Knowing the traffic patterns and shortcuts of avoid traffic to eliminate the chance of your photographer being late or getting the bride and groom stuck in traffic.
And most importantly understanding the overall dynamics of the wedding day to that specific venue. For example, the upper level of The Grand Del Mar, an amazing San Diego Wedding venue has so many great photos opportunities but not a good place to shoot prior to the ceremony because this is where all your guests will be arriving. The interior hallways are great to but guests will be hangin out at the bar and wandering down to the Aria Lawn for the ceremony. Understanding how large the property is and keeping in mind you don't want to make your bride walk 2 miles in high heels before her ceremony. You get the point!
